Once you have finally gotten your nerve up to get inked, now its time to look after it. If your new tattoo is not properally looked after and cared for during the healing process it could damage the final out come, and may have to be redone. Remeber they are permanent!
1. Once the tattoo is finished remove the bandage (if used) after about 2 hours. If the bandage sticks to the tattoo wet it slightly and remove gently, so you don't hook any!!
2. Wash the tattoo gently with antibacterial soap and warm water. Do not scrub!!! Also you could let the shower beat directly on the tattoo, but not for to long. Pat the tattoo dry, do not rub!
3. Use Tattoo Goo, Neosporin, Polysporin or other petroleum based products (gel healers, Not cream!!). Apply small amount on tattoo using your hand, to much will ruin your tattoo (use a clean hand!) and rub on gently. Do this for about 2 weeks. Try to avoid letting your tattoo completly dry out.
4. Keep your tattoo away from the long periods of sun, no saltwater or chlorinated water (NO swimming pools) for at least two weeks. Sun and chlorinated water will fade and damage an unhealed tattoo.
5. And finally keep your dirty, filthy, nasty hands off of it! Do not rub or pick at the scab, or risk ruining your tattoo, and have to get it redone...... And I don't think you want that... Do you???
